Shaker Cabinet Doors Description
Shaker cabinet doors from Eagle Woodworking are built with the kind of simple, clean lines that define this style. Each door is made with steady rails and stiles, giving you a solid, reliable piece that works in kitchens, bathrooms, and other everyday spaces. We offer custom builds and pre-set styles, with maple, white oak, and MDF options depending on the finish you want. The construction is consistent across every order, ensuring every door is made with care and checked for fit so each piece lines up the way it should once you’re on site.
Why Choose Shaker Cabinet Doors
Shaker cabinet doors are a go-to option for many pros because of the simple framing and the flat center panel, which is easy to wipe down after everyday use. They work well in kitchens and bathrooms where you want something practical and clean.
When you look at other cabinet door styles next to a Shaker, the differences show up right away. Featuring a five-piece construction with a flat center panel and square door frame, the clean lines give them a simple, balanced look that works in almost any room.
Materials & Finishes
Shaker cabinet doors can be built from a few different wood types, and each one behaves differently. Maple gives you a clean, tight grain. White oak has more texture and shows the grain more prominently. MDF is common for painted doors because it stays smooth and takes paint well. Most of the choice comes down to how much grain you want to see and how the rest of the kitchen or bathroom is finished.
You can order the doors unfinished if the finishing is being done in your shop, or go with primed doors to move things along on site. Stain-grade and paint-grade versions are both available. Stain-grade keeps the wood visible. Paint-grade is meant for solid colors and an even surface.

What to Consider Before Buying Shaker Cabinet Doors
It helps to look over the basics before you order, so the final fit is right for the project. Because we build these doors to the specific numbers you provide, you’ll want to double-check the opening size, thickness, and hinge style. This is also the best time to decide on the finish, since choosing a natural White Oak or a paint-grade MDF impacts the overall look. If you have custom details or specific hardware in mind, just include those specs now and review the lead times to keep everything on schedule.

For more details visit or cabinet door specifications and tolerances page.
What is a shaker cabinet door, and how does it differ from other styles?
Shaker cabinet doors are defined by their clean, simple lines and functional design. They differ from other styles by emphasizing minimalism and practicality, making them a versatile choice for any decor. We also offer MDF cabinet doors in shaker style, as well as in other styles. Other options such as flat panel cabinet doors, offer a clean, modern look that works with many design styles, while our raised panel door collection blends classic woodworking techniques with crisp, modern profiles.
Do shaker cabinets add value?
Yes. Shaker cabinets hold their value because the look fits almost any home style. The simple design works in both traditional and modern spaces, so future buyers usually don't feel the need to replace them. It is also easy to freshen them up with new paint or hardware later on without replacing the doors. For a deeper look at how they compare to more detailed styles, see our Shaker vs. Raised Panel Cabinet Doors guide.
Are shaker cabinets hard to keep clean?
No. The flat center panel wipes down easily, and there are no deep grooves or carved details to trap grease in a busy kitchen. The inner edges may collect dust over time, but are still easier to maintain than raised panel, beadboard, or louvered styles.
Our Types of Cabinet Doors: Which Should You Choose? article walks through how different door styles behave in day-to-day use.
What are the pros and cons of shaker cabinet doors?
Pros: A look that doesn’t go out of style, fits almost any room, clean lines, easy to wipe down, takes paint or stain well, and usually costs less than detailed doors.
Cons: Might be too plain for very formal spaces, inside corners can catch a little dust, and slab doors are a better pick if you want a completely flat surface.
