Maple Cabinet Doors FAQs

See the answers to our most commonly asked questions from contractors and builders. Each answer is designed to help you feel confident in choosing and ordering maple cabinet doors.

Where can I get pricing?

You can request a quote through our Doors Quote Form. We return quotes within 1–2 hours during business hours. If you send a request after hours, we’ll respond the next business day.

What is the typical lead time?

Our standard lead time for cabinet doors and drawer fronts is 2–3 weeks. That includes single replacements and large, multi-door orders.

What other wood types are available for doors?

In addition to maple, we stock white oak, paint-grade maple, and MDF at ¾-inch thickness. We also offer walnut, red oak, and cherry by request. Lead times for specialty wood types may be longer.

Is everything custom?

Yes. All of our doors and drawers are made to order. You choose the size, style, wood type, and profile. We build to your exact specifications.

Where do you ship?

We ship nationwide. You can save on shipping by placing larger orders we can palletize (15–20+ doors), or by taking advantage of our local delivery service within about 90 miles of Lawrence, MA.

Do maple cabinet doors come sanded?

Yes. All maple doors are machine-sanded and hand-finished to prep them for your stain or paint application.

Are priming options available?

We offer no-prime (default), single-prime, and double-prime options for all paint-grade maple doors. Just specify your finish preference at checkout.

Is maple good for cabinet doors?

Yes. Maple is one of the most popular hardwoods for cabinet doors thanks to its strength, smooth grain, and finishing flexibility. It holds paint and light stains evenly, making it ideal for both traditional and modern designs. It's also a top choice for cabinet refacing and replacements due to its durability and easy integration.

Are maple cabinets outdated?

Not at all. Maple cabinet doors remain a timeless option in kitchen and bath design. Their clean, consistent grain makes them easy to pair with any paint color, hardware, and layout. Whether you're going for a minimalist look or something more classic, maple offers a fresh, adaptable foundation.

Which is better, maple or oak cabinets?

Both are excellent hardwood options, but it comes down to the look you want. Maple has a smooth, subtle grain and takes paint or light stains well, making it great for clean, modern or transitional spaces. Oak has a more pronounced grain and deeper texture, ideal for bold, natural finishes. Maple is often chosen for its versatility and more uniform appearance.

What color complements maple cabinets?

Maple pairs well with a wide range of colors, depending on your finish. For natural or lightly stained maple, try warm whites, soft grays, navy, or forest green to highlight the wood's tone. Painted maple cabinets also look sharp with black hardware or bold accent walls for contrast.
